Sen. Comrd. Shehu Sani’s words set the ball in motion for me when I set to analyse Dr. Idris Ahmeds recent allegations concerning Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah. The Distinguished Senator posits in his facebook page,

“When one reads most postings of opinions or reactions in most Nigerian Online news websites, it's full of anonymous persons firing missiles of insults, hate, abuse and innuendos. People intellectually deficient in responding to issues with superior arguments, rather behave like thugs:

For a simple opinion on say infrastructure, they spare not the religion or the ethnic group of their victim. And to many of such people, the "social" factor in the idea of the social media has since been lost. The right to freedom of speech need to be exercised with decorum and respect for sensibilities and dignities of persons in the social media and online forum. Sen. Comrd Shehu Sani

Thus, before I delve into analysis Dr. Idris Ahmed criticism to Ibn Na’Allah, I need to know what CUPS is and who is Dr. Idris Ahmed. I started by finding out what CUPS is all about before going digging about Dr. Idris Ahmed. Read on! I found out a fundamental flaw. What CUPS is on its website is different from what CUPS is on facebook.

Who is Dr. Idris Ahmed?

According to his associates, (former associates) Dr. Idris Ahmed is none of the eloquent and noble position of CUPS. His post contradicts the human face of CUPS......Ahmed from his “friends”, (episode 3). Here we go! NONE IS EDITED!

Notice of My Disengagement with CUPS.

Actually I was part of CUPS distribution of relief material to IDPS. In fact all its humanitarian services in Kano, I did that because of the passion I have of serving humanity, I decided to disengage myself from the activities of CUPS and from being a member of the organization because of the following reasons :

1. I have never met Dr Idris Ahmed in person.

2. He is living in Coventry UK and has never visited Nigeria for the past 20 years or more than that.

3. He has never shown interest to visit his country even for the sake of serving cups especially its formal launching.

4. He has been a strong critic of former President Goodluck Jonathan more especially in seeing that he lose the recent presidential election to Buhari but has never shown interest to visit Nigeria for the sake of giving his vote to Buhari while all other Nigerians living abroad have decided to do so for a better Nigeria, Dr Ibraheem Dooba Hurso Adam and many more were purposely in the country to vote. I think wisely and realized all this.

5. He is dictatorial, he always hijack everything by refusing to allow other offices of cups to discharge their duties especially the media officer in person of one Ahmed Magem.

6. Dr Ahmed has been exposing issues of National Security and has never commended the efforts of our security agencies in every good efforts they made but always putting the blame on them.

7. If all what Dr Ahmed is saying is false, will he be arrested? No! Because nobody knows his personal address in Coventry and no any Nigerian living in London will tell you that he met this man even Hurso Adam himself who represented CUPS during President Buhari's visit to UK, at that time Ahmed refused to meet PMB by giving some silly excuses as I can recall.

8. Why did Dr Ahmed refused to debate with Sheriff Muhammad Ibrahim Almuhajir constructively on some issues he raised about the activities of cups? Ahmed response was not convincing and all the issues raised by Almuhajir are things that came to my mind in reality and I started asking myself some questions.

9. Why is Dr Ahmed giving more emphasis on civilian JTF legal framework by refusing to focus and advise the government on the ways of providing the military with good weapons and other equipments ? Why is he interested in the whistle blowing without giving PMB the time to study this issue of insecurity critically? He is always in a hurry on this issue but nobody knows why he is in this hurry.

10. Dr Ahmed has never accept any piece of advice by CUPSIANS but always do things about CUPS on his own.

11. I realized all the allegations he raised on Dr Fatima Jajere were false and full of blackmail.

Based on the following reasons as from today friends you count me out of this organization, I ceased from being a member insha Allah, I will focus on the activities of other Non Governmental Organization that I am a member of so that I will continue to be contributing towards the development and service of humanity which I have developed passion on. For CUPS I urge the founder to come out and defend himself on the issues I raised, for my other friends that are still on the platform I advice them to ask themselves the above questions and look at the reasons I gave critically .

I am highly principled therefore nobody can change me at once just like that without a reason that will make me convinced, I raised an issue which this founder failed to defend himself rather just calling them baseless, for God Sake how will you expect my stay in cups???

Good afternoon all,

I joined CUPS envisioning an ideal means and platform to positively impact the lives of the less fortunate. I am very proud of the work we did collectively in helping elect a government in our beloved Nigeria that stands for that noble ideal. The government we helped elect is very capable in every matter of government. While we are all expected in our little way to contribute in the betterment of our society, there are areas in the government that do not warrant our interference.
Those of you who know me, know how passionate I am about empowering the most vulnerable and helpless among us. They know me by my saying: a God-given talent not used for the betterment of humanity is worthless. As one of the trustees of CUPS in charge of fundraising, and the empowerment of women and the youth, I recently spearheaded a RAMADAN fundraising initiative for the IDPs and I am currently conducting a clothing drive for them. I am in NO SHAPE or FORM involved in the vitriol and the editorial for as it pertains to CUPS. Yet, as a Trustee of the Organization, I can only offer my sincere apologies to anyone who has directly or indirectly been hurt by it.

I truly believe much can be achieved with a spirit of inclusiveness, peace, compassion, acceptance, compromise and constructive criticism, and that radicalism, abrasive rhetoric, divisiveness are counterproductive , self-destructive and against my core philosophy of leadership. I am a humanitarian at heart not an “EGOMANITARIAN”.

I therefore believe it’s time to hereby declare formally, my disassociation from CUPS starting now. This disassociation is voluntary and is no way done under any duress. May God bless you all, and let us continue the building of a new and better Nigeria and ensuring that there is a voice for the powerless.

NOTICE OF RELINQUISH FROM CUPS

Citizens United for Peace and Stability (CUPS) is an organization, under the leadership of Dr ‪#‎Idris Ahmed, whose membership I have been having. With not much distracting stories, the statement below has triggered me to quit.

"...I call on the remaining CUPSIANS in the house to show ABSOLUTE LOYALTY or leave..."

The statement above is credited to Dr. Idris after some series of allegations by some members were raised against him. The statement is a conditional one; either a member shows absolute loyalty or leaves.

I cannot show absolute loyalty due to the following reasons;

* I honoured an invitation to CUPS in order to learn and contribute not to just listen, watch or blind-follow anybody.*

The organization's leader, Dr Idris doesn't deserve my absolute obedience because;

- He is hot/short tempered in the sense that he can easily be misguided by anger. I cannot risk my life and image in the hand of such a person, because whatever he says on behalf of the organization becomes my view if I still remain its component.

2. He doesn't welcome criticism and whenever he is criticized, the critic becomes a devil.

3. He hardly/doesn't accept corrections; whenever a leader is not open for it, a movement is doomed.

Although aims and objectives of CUPS are clear, conscience and superb, and its members are great, I doubt Dr Idris's sincerity of the course. I perceived him as someone who is using something in order to achieve something. - Reason?

- He always likes to present himself as a hero, especially to the public. That's why he couldn't allow the organisation's Media Director, Ahmed Magem to carry out his duty despite iterating calls on that.

- There were two different times, if I am not mistaking in which he conveyes his CV and Thesis on the organization's facebook platform. My take; it's strange seeing an activist extending CV to the public. This clearly shows that Dr needs to be seen by the New government and be considered for an appointment, since it happens on the eve of Buhari's triumph - *Perception*

3. CUPS most recent activities have turned to be more of a Wikileaks, hence diverted from what it was originally founded.

4. CUPS doesn't honor its members' grievances and when a member reacts in the negative he/she becomes different names.

5. The day a member relieves self, all that he/she does for the organization, no matter how noble, the person's selfless efforts, sacrifice of time, money, energy is, becomes null.

With this, I humbly take myself out of CUPS and need not to be involved in any of its future events.

*I still have much respect to the great personalities in the movement.*

May Allah accept our noble work and forgive our sins.

ON ADNAN'S SO CALLED “DISENGAGEMENT” WITH CUPS!

Dear respected CUPSIANS,

The two images below are screen dumps captured from the Facebook page of one of the so called CUPS members who decided to “Disengage” from CUPS. On 6/7/2015, Adnan Mukhtar Adam Tudun Wada was posted on his Facebook page a blog singing all praises of CUPS, for making his dream of espousing for peace and unity in Nigeria become a reality. He went further to pray for the well-being of the CUPS founder.

Exactly six days later, on 12/7/2015, without any provacation, the same Adnan dramatically posted his “Disengagement” notice from CUPS. The pertinent question to ask Adnan is this; what happened to his understanding of CUPS activities and his participation in the organisation between 6/7/2015 and 12/7/2015? We don't know the answer to this question. Only Adnan and his creator know the answer.

Dear CUPSIANS, these are the challenges that CUPS is forced to deal with in the last few days. It is sheer grandeur betrayal by those who we think are part of us, but who are seeking to undermine our very survival in the face of corruption, tyranny, genocide and occupation. Be rest assured that we are up to the task. I will respond to Adanan's blog shortly.

May God save Nigeria and Nigerian. Amen.

Thanks mallam Abubakar. I assure you that every single one of Adnan and Suleiman Mahir Badamasiis's accusations are blatant lies. OK, let us start with the first accusation made by Sheriff. We agreed that we were going to have a debate, on the condition that he will translate his libelous allegations into English for the whole whole to read and understand. He agreed to do that. Suddenly he changed his mind and put new conditions. Now, there is Hauwa's allegations as well. So it looks like their strategy of destyong our work is to overwhelm us with allegations, so that we stop the good work and concentrate on replying allegations. If you are the CUPS president what will you do? Do the real work or waste time answering every single allegation labeled against you?

Ask Dr Idris some questions here I gave as reasons for my disengagement, asking him to carry on sounds funny, he is there at London putting our lives at risk while he has been out of the country for more than 20 years that's since 1990 and I was born in this 90's even participating actively in something he formed. I think my reasons are ok. Could you imagine how he was disturbed with the disengagement of Hajiya Hauwa who is seen as the mother of CUPS in Nigeria, he followed the decision with insults and so on, how can a leader be behaving this way??? My background check told me a lot I don't need to share, I will rather allow everyone to decide for himself. But I believe it's not wise you do if you don't search who is this guy? You don't know that some people can hack information from people's devices, and some are imprisoned for that in their country of residence.   Sunusi Musa Abduljalil, Sheriff, Mujahid and Aranposu let me say Alhamdulillah. I was really concern with young people like Adnan being part of this CUPS thing. Is one of the people I intend to talk to when I come to Kano on the need to be careful. But I think the battle has just began. We must not rest until we rescue our young men from the clutches of this man or he come out clean. That was how BH started and like Dr. Ibrahim said, CUPS seems to be northern version of Biafra.

As a matter of fact and considering the reasons you highlighted, you are justified to take this measure. Hauwa Umar Aliyu did endure more than any average man. Her decision is as well very reasonable. I concur with you both. I believe many other members will boycott the organisation for one or similar reasons.
